Abbe Green

Abbie "Abbe" Lee Green, age 68 of Mesquite, Nevada passed away on August 26, 2022 at her home, surrounded by family. Abbe was born in Saint George, Utah on May 7, 1954 to Don Lee and Lorena Ann Hardy Lee. She lived in Mesquite all her life and was a Virgin Valley Bulldog through and through. She was a cheerleader, a VV-ette, and held many leadership positions. After graduation, she attended Stephen Henagar Business College in Salt Lake City Utah.

Abbe married Milton Andrew Green on August 26, 1975, in the Manti, Utah Temple. They later divorced.

Abbe worked at the high school in different roles for 39 years and was an office manager for many years prior to retiring. She had a great love for the faculty, staff, and students at Virgin Valley High School. She retired July 31, 2021, after her battle with cancer made it impossible for her to work. Her words of advice at the end, "retire when you can and enjoy life."

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in many callings. She had a strong testimony of the gospel and loved to serve those around her. She enjoyed traveling, reading, crocheting, and she loved to watch her soap operas and reality TV shows.

Abbe's life revolved around her two children. She never missed an activity in which they were involved. She was always on the sidelines cheering them on. Abbe had a lot of other kids that called her "mom". She took a lot of the students and adults from the school under her wing. Some of them probably would not have graduated if it hadn't been for her constant nagging to get their homework done.

Abbe is survived by her two children Randi Lee Peterson, Terry (Bethany) Green; two sisters Vicki (Doug) Waite, Mindy (Jerry) Martinsen; ten grandchildren Kamri, Kynsli, Elexa, Konnor, Sasha, Sydney, Skyler, Taylor, Nayah, and Logan. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews whom she loved like her own children. She is preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Bill Lee.

Visitation will be held at the LDS Stake Center in Mesquite on Wednesday, August 31, 2022 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm and again on Thursday, September 1, 2022 from 9:30-10:30 am with the funeral service starting at 11:00 am.
