Andrew “Andy” Lee Cerda, of Boulder City, Nevada, passed away on January 31, 2026, at the age of 63.
Andy was born on December 5, 1962, in Gary, Indiana, to Ruth and Lauro Cerda, Jr. From the start, Andy lived life on his own terms - fully, passionately, and without regret. He had a deep love for music and found joy in playing his guitar, riding his bike, laughing freely, and reminiscing about the good times. Andy was a true lover of life who never met a stranger. Though he lived unconventionally, he embraced his journey wholeheartedly and without apology.
Andy was an animal lover and had many loving companions who provided a source of comfort and happiness throughout his life.
Above all else, Andy was profoundly proud of his two children. Anyone who spent more than a few minutes with him would quickly hear about them, as they were the greatest joy of his life. His love for them was unwavering and unmistakable.
He leaves behind his children, Aimee Fitch (Jared) and Arik Cerda (Elizabeth); his brothers, Joseph Cerda (Sheila) and Daniel Cerda (Elaine); and a large, loving family of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Andy was preceded in death by his parents, Ruth and Michael Olejnik and Lauro Cerda, Jr., his wife, Piper Smith, his beloved grandparents, several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Andy will be remembered for his free spirit, his laughter, his love of music, and his deep love for his family. We love you, Andy, and know you’re dancing with the angels, likely with a guitar in hand. You will be missed beyond measure.
