Audrone (Audrey) Suopys Berney

July 17, 1954 — July 31, 2023

Audrone Suopys Berney died on July 31, 2023 in Mesquite, Nevada after a serious illness.  She was born on July 17, 1954 in Chicago, Illinois.

She is survived by her husband Peter Berney and the family of sister Jurate-husband Edward, nephew Edward, Jr., sisters; Elisabeth and Kristina, and their children, Owen and Declan.  The Visciai family and other relatives and friends in the USA and Lithuania are also grieving.

Audrone was the daughter of Antanas and Agota Visciute Dogpiai and sister of Jurate Jensen.  After her father died early, Audrone and her sister were raised by her mother, a figure in the Lithuanian community of Bridgeport and a zealous supporter of Baltic-American Freedom Foundation (BAFF) and other Lithuanian organizations.

Audrone attended St. George Parish School in Bridgeport and Maria High School in Chicago.  She graduated from Roosevelt University with a degree in Business Administration.  At St. Jurgis school she participated in the Lithuanian dance and song ensemble and played kankles, a traditional Lithuanian folk string instrument.

After graduation, she was employed by one of the larger clothing manufacturers in the USA, the HART, Schaffner, & Marx Company.  From 1997 to 2007, she was the Vice President of Manufacturing Administration for Jaymar Ruby and Hartmarx companies.  She was responsible for the production, distribution and management of an extensive network of warehouses across America.  She generously supported various charitable organizations.

Audrey desired her ashes to be scattered at a beloved summer vacation site.

We ask all relatives, friends and acquaintances to remember Audrey in their prayers.
