Barbara Jean Nordwig, age 86 passed away peacefully on October 10, 2019 after suffering the debilitating affects of Alzheimer’s disease.  Barbara was born July 1, 1933 to Albert and Mildred Conjurske in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin.  She married her lifelong friend and love, Roger Louis Nordwig on June 13, 1952 who preceded her in death on May 2009.

Barbara loved animals of any kind, so much so, that after her four children were raised she opened her own business doing pet grooming and boarding.  Her shop was called the “Barking Lot."   She had a very successful business in Las Vegas, NV for over twenty years; she was loved by her customers because she loved their furry animals as they did.

Barbara is survived by her sister Ruth Mary; her four children and their significant others Terry Connors Nordwig, Jan and Douglas Gulbransen, Kim and Ben Grad, Michael and Susan Nordwig, six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.  Barbara was a devoted wife, mother and grandparent.

Services will be held on Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at the Southern Nevada Veterans Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers the family requests that you donate to the Alzheimer’s Association in memory and to honor her life and struggle with Alzheimer’s disease. Donations can be made at http://act.alz.org/goto/barbaranordwig

She will be loved and remembered always by her family.  She has now gone to join those in heaven her beloved husband Roger and granddaughter Kelli.
