Barbara Raehrs

February 3, 1935 — February 17, 2020

Las Vegas

Barbara left this world to join her love, Robert "Bob" Raehrs, in eternal life on February 17, 2020.  Born February 3, 1935 in Racine, WI, she spent the majority of her life in southern California, first as wife and mother, along with giving many years serving others in the medical field.

Upon retirement Bob and Barbara relocated to Las Vegas where she relished competitive ballroom dancing, dressing in lovely gowns, and floating across the dance floor!

After Bob passed away in 2003, she relocated to Taos, NM, living, sharing, and building beautiful memories with sons Robert and Alex.  In 2016 it was back to Las Vegas to enjoy her final years with daughter Vicki.  With dancing behind her, Barbara was engrossed in cross-stitching, blessing many with thoughtful gifts throughout the year.  An avid reader, Barbara also supported Boys Town USA, Veterans associations, and Catholic charities.

Barbara's final months were spent in the loving care and comfort provided by Josephine Engenio, Conrad, and Dante of Joyful Memories II in Las Vegas.  She is survived by sons Robert Pedersen and Alex Giordano of Taos, NM. Daughter Vicki (Bob) Russell, Las Vegas, step-daughter Becky (Dave) Newman and grandson Christopher, Napa, CA; brother Richard Christman, Bullhead City, AZ, 9 additional grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and dear friend Chris (Mike) Harnish of Pismo Beach, CA.  Due to proximity, her final memories were filled with special time with her children, granddaughters Rebecca Burrell and Destiny Pedersen, grandsons Luke and Daniel (Sarah) Russell, great-grandson Vash, great-granddaughter Clara, nephew Scott Christman and husband Fred Creamer.

Barbara's passing was proceeded by her parents, Clair and Helen Christman, brother David Christman, United States Navy, and her dear grandson; Roberts son, Robbie Perdersen, United States Army.

Viewing will be held at Boulder City Family Mortuary 833 Nevada Hwy Ste 1 Boulder City, NV 89005; from 10:00 - 11:30 on Wednesday, February 26th, followed by services at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery 1900 Veterans Memorial Drive Boulder City, NV 89005. Her final resting place shall be shared with her loving husband, Bob Raehrs, United States Army.

While grieving, the family releases Barbara to a better world, where she enjoys eternal life. We celebrate the life of our dear mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. We recognize the impact her graciousness had in us, as she resides in our hearts for the rest of our days.  Family and friends are welcome to sign an online memorial guestbook at www.bouldercityfamilymortuary.com
