Benjamin Charles Luttrell, was born in a farmhouse in rural Oklahoma on July 10, 1933, to Buddy and Ima Luttrell, and ended his life journey on January 28, 2026. He was raised on the family farm near Scipio, Oklahoma, and graduated from Indianola High School in 1951. After school, Ben enlisted in the US Navy and served aboard the ship William A. Mann during the Korean War. In his last year of service Ben was assigned to duty in Whittier, Alaska, where he met Jean Craig. Upon discharge from the Navy, Ben and Jean were married on June 10, 1956. Two sons, Chuck and Dave were born in 1957 and 1961 respectively.
After several moves across the country the family settled in southern Nevada in 1961. In 1965 Ben and Jean moved to Boulder City. Ben initially worked as an autobody repairmen until he began a long, happy career with Allstate Insurance. Ben rose to become the property unit manager for the State of Nevada. Ben retired in 1991 and in retirement he and Jean spent several months each year traveling the country in their motorhome.
In his final years, Ben enjoyed a quiet, simple life in Boulder City, amongst friends and family. Ben was a devoted husband and father and his life revolved around providing and caring for his family, which he did masterfully.
Ben was preceded in passing by his parents, sister Coleen, and granddaughter Jessica. Ben is survived by his wife Jean of 69 years, sons Chuck and wife Eileen, Dave and wife Jill, grandchildren Kevin and wife, Danielle, Jen and partner Alyssa, and great grandchild Cooper.
Ben will be remembered as the heart of the family, loving, caring, and wise, the provider, the protector, the teacher, the inspiration, and the roll model for all that is done well, and a life well lived.
