Henderson, Nevada- Bernadette Elizabeth Griffin, 83, passed away on October 5, 2026 at Saint Rose Dominican Hospital Siena Campus. She was born on December 23, 1942 in Chicago, Illinois to Raymond Powers and Elizabeth Powers (Gannon). She married Wayne Griffin on October 27, 1961 in Chicago, Illinois.
Bernadette Griffin was raised in Chicago, Illinois and graduated from Siena High School in 1960. After high school, she worked for the Federal Bureau of Investigations until she married. Their family grew to include four daughters, which were all raised in Chicago, Illinois. She moved with her husband to Henderson, Nevada in 1988. She was employed with America West Airlines at McCarran International Airport. She enjoyed running, participating in exercise classes with her lady friends and walking in her neighborhood. She thoroughly enjoyed being with her family especially attending Sunday mass followed by a Panera cinnamon crunch bagel.
She is survived by her husband- Wayne Griffin; children- Ann Rodriguez, Mary (Thomas) Davis, Kathleen (John) Rodriguez and Patricia (Lloyd) Desotell; grandchildren- Kristopher Rodriguez, Erin Rodriguez, Isabella Rodriguez, Jillian Davis, Katherine Desotell, Samantha Rodriguez and Abigail Desotell. Preceded in death by her parents- Raymond Powers and Elizabeth Powers; brother- Raymond Powers Jr.
Funeral services will be Monday, October 12th, 2026. Viewing at 10 am and funeral mass at 11am at St. Thomas More Catholic Community (130 N Pecos Rd.). Interment will be at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery at 1:20pm. We invite family and friends to leave condolences or memories at www.starmortuary.com.
Bernadette will be greatly missed.
