Betty Smith

Betty Smith, wife of Erwin "Smitty" Smith, beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, and a friend to many in Picayune died peacefully on May 29, 2025, at the age of 97.

She was born in Indianapolis, Indiana. She resided in South Bend, IN, Houston, TX, and New Orleans, LA, but her home for many decades was right here in Picayune. She was a self-made businesswoman in the field of real estate and owned her own company. She also worked in the Smith family business for many years alongside her wonderful Smith family.

She and her beloved husband were fortunate to travel the world together and enjoyed a wonderful life. She is preceded in death by Smitty.

She is survived by Sandra Guerra, Carleen Sandora, Brad Ducote, Debbie Boe, Rachel Robertson, Randy Guerra, Clint Guerra, Danny Shea and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Melanie Ducote.

A graveside service in her remembrance will be held Wednesday, June 25, at 10:00 AM at the New Palestine Cemetery, 2500 Palestine Road, Picayune, Mississippi.
