Billie Waymire

May 24, 1928 — July 12, 2016

Billie Irene Waymire,

Billie was born May 24, 1928 in Anaconda, Montana.  She got her name of Billie from a lady who helped her mother.  Her family moved to California in the late 30’s.  Billie graduated from Downey High School in Downey, California; in fact, Ed and Billie recently attended her 60 year graduation party.  Billie is survived by Ed, her beloved husband of almost 53 years, and her brother Ray Crooks of Orange county California.

Billie went to work immediately after high school.  Her mother raised her to be independent.  She ended up working for General Electric for 30 years, and then joined Ed in their own company for 20 years.  Billie was very devoted to her family.

Billie and Ed met through work; they talked for five years before actually meeting each other. Mutual friends from both companies suggested that they should meet each other.  Ed and Billie dated for three years before getting married and have been married for 53 years this September 8th; they had a great marriage, no arguing in their home, they dearly loved each other.  They did not have any children because Billie's mother had such a bad time delivering her.

They enjoyed travelling together and made just about every trip a person would want to do.  Also, Billie was a great art collector; in fact, everywhere Ed looks in their home today, he can see Billie.  If she wanted something Ed never said “no”.  Billie has been quite ill the last three years and wanted to die, but Ed said “no”.  But finally, the Lord called her home on July 12, 2016.  Ed will always be very thankful for the time she was his.

Billie will truly be missed.

Memorial services will be held on August 6, 2016 at the LDS Church on Buchannan Street in Boulder City.  Family and friends are encouraged to sign an online memorial guestbook at www.bouldercityfamilymortuary.com
