Carol Ann Horton

Carol Ann Horton, 84, passed away on December 10th in Mesquite, Nevada. She was born February 19, 1941, in Sultan, Washington. Her parents were George W. Caldwell and Eleanor E. Vanslate Caldwell. She married Wayne R. Horton on June 15, 1957, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.

She was one of eleven children and raised in Sulton, Washington She lived all over the United States and each of her five children were born in a different state. She was the administrator/ bookkeeper for her and Wayne’s company, Horton’s Construction. She was very active in her church and a leader for Christian Women in Lake Havasu City. She loved painting, playing cards, and traveling and flying with Wayne on their Mooney airplane.

She is survived by her children: Jackie (John) Fox from Mesquite, Nevada, Robert (Tammy) Horton from Wenatchee, Washington, Clayton (Melissa) Horton from Puyallup, Washington, Melinda (Vance) Grimm from Auburn, Washington, and Scott (Kris) Horton from Lake Havasu City, Arizona. She has 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two living brothers: Bill Caldwell and Joe Caldwell in Ohio. She was preceded in death by her husband Wayne, six sisters, two brothers, and one grandson, Brett Horton.

The family would like to acknowledge and thank all the special staff members from Mesa Valley Estates and Mesa View Hospice for the wonderful care provided to our mom during these final days.
