Cathy Ann Lauer 70, formerly of Spring City, died Wednesday, June 3, 2020 at her home in Boulder City, Nevada.

Born on September 14, 1949 in Elyria, Ohio Cathy graduated from high school there. She and her husband Ken moved to Spring City in 1974 to work in the family business and later owned and operated Gastown Auto Parts; which later became Spring City NAPA Store.  For a short time, they also owned the NAPA Store in Dayton.  Cathy was active the Spring City Foursquare Church, in which she was a member and served as song leader. Cathy also belonged to various clubs and organizations in her community.  She served as the Administrator of Elections in Rhea County for several years. Cathy loved traveling the world with Ken and spending time with her family and friends.

Cathy was preceded in death by her mother Ruth McCabe Thurman, her brother Ronnie Roberts and her sister Linda Brown.

Survivors include her husband of over 50 years Ken Lauer of Boulder City, son Kenneth Michael “Mick” (Wendi) Lauer of Boulder City, father Clyde D. Thurman Sr. of Spring City, brothers Clyde D. (Wendy) Thurman Jr. of Spring City and Danny (Gretchen) Thurman of Crossville, sisters Sue (Bill) Carter of Elyria, OH and Joann Thurman of Crossville, grandchildren Sydni Ruth Lauer and Ty Alexander Lauer of Boulder City, Nevada several nieces and nephews

Due to the circumstances of the Covid-19 virus, visitation and services for Cathy will be private.  Burial will be in the Spring City Cemetery.
