Charles Edwin Cave

Charles Edwin Cave passed away peacefully and went to be with his maker and Savior in Heaven on December 27, 2025, at the age of 85. Chuck was a resident of Boulder City, Nevada.

Chuck lived a life marked by service, faith, and dedication to his family and community.

Chuck was born on Christmas Day, December 25, 1940, in San Diego, California to parents; Kermit Lyle Cave and Mary Lois (Fall) Cave who both preceded him in death.

Chuck grew up in southern California and graduated from Vista High School in 1958. Chuck met his wife, Lynda in Vista, and married on September 16, 1961. A wonderful marriage that lasted more than 63 years until Lynda’s passing in 2024, at age 81.

After they married, Chuck went on to attend Bob Jones University in South Carolina to further his education in ministry and returned to enlist with the United States Air Force. He became a weatherman stationed at Beale Air Force Base in Northern California briefing pilots of B-52’s and KC-135’s. In his last twelve months of service, he was stationed 200 miles above the Arctic Circle on the North coast of Alaska.

Returning to California, he began his career of land surveying with the California Division of Highways in San Diego. In 1969, Chuck and Lynda moved their family to Boulder City, Nevada to co-found a surveying company. After attaining his license to be a professional land surveyor, he joined the civil engineering firm, Baughman, Haught, and Turner Civil Engineering to enjoy a 30+ year career of land surveying before retiring in 1999.

During his professional career and years of retirement, Chuck was always busy with activities, volunteering, and multiple community organizations. Some of his hobbies included a life-long goal of earning his pilot’s license and flying, coin collecting, watching sports, card games, coaching little league baseball, travel, bowling leagues, and countless others.

Deeply committed to his faith, Chuck was active in ministry work, teaching Sunday school, men’s prayer breakfast, assisting the homeless, and traveling to orphanages in other countries to teach the gospel.

One of his volunteer jobs that he was most proud of was being a Boulder City volunteer firefighter, driving emergency vehicles including the ambulance, fire engines, and operating the ladder truck.

Chuck was involved with a young man's organization, Jaycees, which provided leadership, training, and civic organization focused on community service, business development, and personal growth. The Boulder City community projects Chuck worked on included: The Jaycee’s Kiddy Park development project, constructing a stone barbecue grill and picnic tables for St. Jude’s Ranch, hosting Carnivals, firework shows, and setting up Art-in-the-Park to financially help our local hospital. Chuck held offices of the Jacee’s including Secretary, Treasurer, Vice President, President, Trustee, and State Vice President. Chuck wrote a grant proposal to the U.S. government to send himself and three others to Mill's college in Oakland, California to train and bring back to Boulder City a drug abuse training program. He was awarded Outstanding Young Nevadan in 1973-74 and received the Outstanding Jaycee Award in 1970 and Distinguished Service Award in 1972. While President of the Boulder City Chapter, he was awarded the Henry Giessenbier number one Jaycees club of America. When our new Boulder City hospital was built, Chuck was appointed as President of the Trustees.

The B.P.O.E., Boulder City Elks Lodge got hold of Chuck and as a member he became the treasurer for seven years. At his passing he was a life member. For years, Chuck was involved with the Boulder City Senior Center and served as the Treasurer for several years as well as supporting the meals on wheels program. The Lions Club and Rotary Club would also keep Chuck busy with projects and activities.

Chuck will be remembered as a devoted husband, a loving father, a caring grandfather, a great brother, a loyal friend, and a wonderful person to all that knew him. Chuck’s sense of humor was always a big part of his personality and will certainly be remembered!

Chuck was a family man and there was nothing he wouldn’t do to help his family and friends. He is survived by, daughter Kimberly Gay (Wendell); son, Edward Cave (Sara Donmoyer); three grandchildren, Randy Rivas (Tansy), Chelsie Rivas (Joe Alexandar), Tierney Robb; great-grandson, Logan Alexander; brother, Robert (Cindy) Cave; sister, Ginny (Robert) Johnston, and sister Julie Cave.

Chuck and Lynda were faithful servants to their Lord and Savior and will be missed by all the family and friends that they shared. Chuck is “In Our Hearts Forever”.

Chuck will be laid to rest at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery at 10:00 AM on February 20, 2026, followed by a celebration of life service, 12:00 PM (noon) at Bethany Baptist Church, food and drink immediately following the service to visit and share wonderful stories.
