David Mark Slater

David Mark Slater, 72, beloved husband, brother, father, grandfather, uncle and friend passed away suddenly from cardiac arrest near his home in Mesquite, Nevada on April 4th, 2026. Dave was born July 25th, 1953 to Ellsworth N. Slater and Gloria I. Pullar in Monterey, California.

He is survived by his husband and partner of 26 years, Jeffrey R. Chastain of Mesquite, Nevada, brother, Darren R. Slater and his wife, Pam of San Diego, California, son, David A. Slater of Sedro Woolley, Washington, daughter, Shannon C. (Slater) Holway and her husband, Jason of Everett, Washington, seven grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many more extended family and dear friends.

Dave was preceded in death by his mother, Gloria I. (Pullar) Wood, father, Ellsworth N. “Slats” Slater, sister, Linda L. Hamilton, brothers, Robert D. Hamilton and Steven E. Slater and granddaughter, Kathleen F. Slater.

Memorial services are being held privately with close family and friends at a later date.
