David Allen Wells, age 81, of Henderson, NV passed away on February 12, 2026. He was born on July 11, 1944 in Glendale, CA to Robert Wilbur Wells and Beulah Boggs Wells the third child of eleven. After high school he served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Eastern States Mission primarily New York. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. While in Vietnam he became pen pals with Gaynor Rose Scott in South Africa. They would later marry in the Los Angeles California, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Temple on November 22, 1969. They moved to Utah from California and then to Nevada in 1988. David worked as a corrections officer for the Southern Desert Correctional Center.
As a young man David enjoyed playing basketball and baseball receiving a varsity letter in baseball and track. He was also pretty amazing on roller skates. David also enjoyed doing genealogy. He was a huge Los Angeles sports fan enjoying Lakers Basketball and was a die hard Dodgers fan. “Go Dodgers”.
David is survived by his wife Gaynor Rose Wells; six children Sandra Wells, Tracey (Joe) Robbins, Michael Wells, Sheri Wells, Terry Wells, Kilee Sanders; four sisters Marilyn Hermanson, Pam Wells, Linda (Tom) Schofield, Susan (Keith) Wilson; five brothers Steve Wells, John (Diane) Wells, Andy Wells, Larry (Marsha) Wells, Tom (Doreen) Wells; five grandchildren Skylar, Quade, Holden, Kenadee, Azure; two great grandchildren Saylor and Jett. He is preceded in death by his parents; a brother Robert Wells and a grandson Quinton Robbins.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026 from 10:00 am to 10:45 am; with funeral service starting at 11:00 am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints “Burkholder Chapel) 1002 Burkholder Blvd Henderson, NV 89015. Burial will be at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery 1900 Veterans Memorial Drive Boulder City, NV 89005 on Tuesday, February 24, 2026 at 9:20 am.
