Dennis Charles Barry (77) passed away January 11, 2022.  Dennis was born to Pauline and Jerry Barry Jr. In Lakeview, Oregon.   In 1966 he married Diane West Berry, his wife of 55 years.  Dennis graduated from Lakeview High School in 1962 and was part of the “Thundering Herd” class he so fondly remembered with many lifelong friends.  With help from the Daly Fund, Dennis attended Oregon State University in Corvallis, Oregon.  He graduated in Ranch Land Management and Business in 1967.  In 1968-69 he served in the US Army, stationed in Caisson Unit at Arlington Cemetery in Virginia.   His unit performed many military funeral services including the funeral for former President Dwight Eisenhower.  The next few years were spent working on the family cattle ranch, then a move to Medford, Oregon where he worked Gor Burroughs Corp.

In 1975 the family, which now included daughter, Angie and son Ryan, moved to Redding, California where he started Independent Business Forms, INC., that he operated for 42 years.  During his time in Redding he was a Cub Scout Master, Coach for Redding Youth Baseball, Board Member and President for the Redding Swim Team.  He was a member of Rotary, Shasta-Trinity Fly Fishers Association, QB Pilots Association and the Western Business Forms Association.  His family started a scholarship at OSU for students majoring in Agriculture, Forestry and Business with priority given to students from Lake County, Oregon.

In 2019 Dennis and Diane moved to Boulder City, Nevada where he resided until his death.  In Boulder City he enjoyed the small town atmosphere that reminded him of his home town in Oregon.  Like many Lakeview residents he was proud of his Irish heritage.  He was a member of the Boulder City Sunrise Rotary.  Throughout his life he enjoyed fishing of all kinds, flying his Cessna Airplane, hiking, yoga, traveling and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Diane, son Ryan Barry of Boulder City, daughter Angie and son in law Rick Schertle, granddaughter Kelly Schertle, grandson, Micah Schertle all of San Jose, CA; sister Judy Skjersaa, Bend OR; nephew Mike Skjersaa, Monticello, IN; cousin Joe Barry, Paisley, OR.  A private memorial service will be held in his honor.  Memorial donations may be made to Lend A Hand, 400 Utah St., Boulder City, NV 89005 or charity of your choice.
