Don Arlotti passed away peacefully on Good Friday (March 29th), at home surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband of Judy, beloved father of Laurie (Robert), Kristy (Jerry), Brett (Nobue), Tricia (Donald) and Sara (John), beloved grandfather of Matthew, Amber, Gary, Mason, Ryan, Connor, Reese, Mya, Minnetta and Scarlett, beloved great-grandfather of Sophia, Evelyn, Evan, Jacqueline and Adam, beloved brother of Vince and Ernie.
Don was born on April 24, 1948 to Dominic and Theda Arlottiand spent his childhood in Baldwin Park, CA. He graduatedfrom Bishop Amat High School in 1966 and worked as the Manager of Arlotti’s Shoe Repair from 1967 – 1969. Don proudly served in the Navy as a communications specialist with Top Secret Crypto Clearance from 1969 – 1975, stationed in Imperial Beach, CA. Don met his wife, Judy, a fellow graduate of Bishop Amat High School, at a Homecoming game in 1984 and they were married six months later. A lifelong entrepreneur, Don owned and operated various businesses including LuckyLuigi’s Flying Pizza and American Casino Equipment, which he sold when he retired in 2013.
Don was a member of the Knights of Columbus Bishop Comboni Council from 1972 – 1981 achieving the rank of Grand Knight which he served from 1980 – 1981. He had a great passion for sports, was
Don was an avid fisherman and spent a lifetime of summers at “the cabin” in Scofield, Utah fishing on his boat in the Scofield Reservoir and enjoying 4th of July celebrations with his children and grandchildren. He and his wife, Judy, moved from California to Sun City in Mesquite, Nevada in 2020 where Don joined the Poker Club and created a circle of treasured friends.Don lived his life to the fullest until the day he passed, hosting parties, welcoming friends and bringing love and laughter to a community which he held dear.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Scofield, Utah in July 2024.
