A proud veteran of the United States Army, Donald went on to serve his community with distinction as undersheriff of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, retiring in 1981. His commitment to public service continued as he took on the role of Director of the Department of Motor Vehicles and Public Safety for the state of Nevada, where his leadership left a lasting impact.
Donald was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Myra Denison. He is survived by his children Eric, Donna, and Walt; daughters-in-law Michelle and Monica; and five cherished grandchildren: Riley, Alyssa, Audrey, Joshua, and Madalyn, and first great grandson Benson.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Donald found joy in traveling the world, casting a line or trolling the depths at Lake Mead, and sharing laughter over card games with loved ones. His warmth, wisdom, and steady presence will be deeply missed.
A memorial service to honor Donald’s life will be held at the Southern Nevada Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City, NV on September 5th.
