Doris Jean Roederer, born on January 26, 1933, in Louisville, Kentucky, peacefully passed away at her home in Boulder City on May 30, 2025.
A graduate of Okolona High School, Doris began her academic journey briefly at the University of Louisville before redirecting her ambitions towards the business field, completing her studies at a local business school. Her professional career commenced at the US Treasury Department in Louisville, where she served in various capacities within the Alcohol, Tobacco Tax and Firearms, Corps of Engineers, and Army Map Service. Doris dedicated 22 years of her life to the US Forest Service, primarily working in the Angeles National Forest and concluding her tenure at the Pacific Southwest Fire and Experimental Station.
Following her retirement from the Forest Service, Doris continued to contribute her skills and work ethic in various roles, including within an Attorney's office, a real estate office, and at a local hospital, showcasing her industrious nature and commitment to service throughout her life.
In February of 1955, Doris married Robert, and together they welcomed three children, Phillip, Pamela (Carl), and Keith (Laura), into their family. Doris cherished her role as a mother and later rejoiced in being a grandmother to seven grandchildren: Jill, Duane, Derek, Amanda, Samantha, Carla, and Andrea. She was also proud to be a great-grandmother to fourteen great-grandchildren, leaving behind a legacy of love and family.
Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, who passed away in 1992 and her son, Phil, who passed away suddenly in 2005. She is survived by her daughter Pamela and son Keith, her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a multitude of friends who will remember her for her strength, dedication, and unwavering spirit. Doris Jean Roederer's contributions to her community and her family will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.
