Dorothy Ann Young was born on November 30, 1943, in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She married George Edward Hamer on March 10, 1961. They were later sealed together for time and all eternity in the Washington D.C. Temple on July 2, 1975. She was known by her family and friends as Dot.
Dot left this earth on December 8, 2025, in Mesquite, Nevada, holding the hand of her husband, who was the love of her life for nearly 65 years.
Dot is survived by her eternal companion, George Edward Hamer, Sr., her children, George, Jr. (Joyce), Glenda Garlitz (Jerry), Kenneth Hamer, Dawn Waddoups (Jeff), Larry Hamer (Seri), and Dalton Hamer (Allie), 20 grandchildren, and 41 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifton & Purley Young, her siblings, Woody, Kenneth, Barney, & Glenda, and her son/grandson Derek.
As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she carried a strong testimony of our Savior and left this earth knowing she would be reunited with George in the Celestial Kingdom when our Heavenly Father chooses to call him home.
