Elnor Gear

Elnor Gear passed away February 10, 2024 at the age of 100 years old. She was born in Kansas and resided in Boulder City since 1950. She married Roy Gear on August 11, 1949 and they have two children, Gary Gear and Teresa (Teri) Pentland.

After high school, she attended business college and worked secretarial and bookkeeping jobs. Elnor was a stay-at-home Mom until her children were teenagers and then worked at the Boulder City Library. Upon her retirement in 1987, she was Administrative Assistant of the library.

Elnor was a Golden member of Grace Community Church and was active in the Women’s Association as well as serving on other committees. She loved to read, play bridge, and work crossword puzzles. Throughout her life she was an excellent seamstress. Her family “was her life”.

She is survived by her son Gary (Wendy), daughter Teri (Jim), grandchildren Dorian Gear, Elliott Gear, Cassie Neigum (Jarrett), and Colin Pentland, and great grandchildren, Denver Neigum and Grayson Neigum. She is preceded in death by her husband Roy Gear.

Remember that what you knew of her is with you always. What is buried is only the shell of what was. Do not regret the shell, but remember the woman.

The family would like to extend our thanks and deep appreciation to the staff at Lakeview Terrace and Brighton Hospice.

A memorial will be held at Grace Community Church on February 24, 2024 at 11:00 am.
