RIP FRANK WRIGHT, In the late summer of 1939, Frank Wright began an 84 year journey in Centerville, UT. In his early life in the Bountiful area, he and Alzie (his brother Alan, deceased) went to the swimming hole, ate fruit from the orchards and raised “hell” during their teen age years. Siblings Keith, Carol and Margie (deceased) were part of the family also.
While attending school in Davis County, at 16 he began a 43 year career in the Utah National Guard. He was activated into full time army service during the Berlin Crisis.
He never tired of military service. He was a civilian employee of the National Guard during much of his adult life. He retired in the spring of 2000 holding the rank of Chief Warrant Officer. He held various jobs during his military service ending his career as Supervisory Contract Officer.
During his young adult years, 5 children became part of his circle of life. Jay (Erledine), Steve (Nancy), Annette Donaldson (Bob), Martina (deceased), Christine Bodily (Mike). Many grandchildren and great grandchildren expanded this family circle.
In 1977, he met Sharon Brown at a parts store. In September 1978, they married and have been together 45 years. They had homes in Salt Lake, West Valley, Draper and retired to Mesquite, Nevada in 2002.
While many who retire in Mesquite spend time golfing and being outside, Frank chose to share his community support again. He was a dependable and knowledgeable volunteer at the VIRGIN VALLEY HERITAGE MUSEUM. He did whatever was needed to support the museum coordinators, including the current coordinator, Elspeth Kuta. He was awarded the Volunteer of the Year Award from the city of Mesquite in the late 2000’s.
He was a great animal lover and rescued many dogs. Proceeding him over the Rainbow Bridge were: Bud, Buffy, Buttons, Ming, Augie, Hellion the cat, Missy, Patsy and Sam. Missing him at home in Mesquite are Teala and Boscha.
On October 16, with Sharon Wright, Annette and Chris supporting him he left Mesa View Hospital and passed over the Rainbow Bridge to find the dogs that went before him.
