IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Garold Martin
Henson
April 24, 1937 – March 8, 2026
Garold Martin Henson, a beloved father, husband, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on March 8, 2026, at Lakeview Terrace in Boulder City, NV.
Garold was born on April 24, 1937, in Burns, Wyoming. He and his family moved to Oklahoma at the tender age of 8, where he and his dad worked the family farms. He graduated from Enid High School in 1955, and later graduated from Oklahoma State University with a degree in Agriculture and Horticulture in 1963.
He proudly served in the United States Army from 1958 – 1961, and was stationed in Germany.
Garold married the love of his life, Cynthia Louise Parkinson, on June 1, 1963, in Enid, Oklahoma, and had 62 years together. They spent 44 wonderful years in Springfield, MO, before moving to Boulder City in 2013. Garold was known for his active involvement with the Elks Club and the VFW, which were important to him throughout his life.
He had a passion for outdoor activities, enjoying water skiing at Table Rock Lake during the summer, and cross-country skiing in the winter, always cherishing time spent on his boat.
An amazing dad, Garold took great pride in being the assistant band director during his daughter Sarah’s high school years and continued to help lead the band for 13 years after her graduation. He also took every opportunity to play his horns (trombone and baritone) with various musical groups.
His passion for all things in nature, music, and his general kindness was contagious to all who knew and loved him.
Garold is survived by his loving wife, Cynthia Louise Henson, his daughter, Sarah (Mark Toumasis) Lowery; his grandchildren, Jordan (Brooke) McQuay and Tasja (Mark Todd) Toumasis; and his great-grandchildren, Amelia, Aloy, and Bjorn.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother. Garold will be remembered fondly by all who knew him, leaving a legacy of love and laughter in the hearts of his family.
