Gary Heyer passed away May 26th, 2019, in Boulder City, Nevada.
Born in Buhl in 1932, the son of long time Buhl residents Roy and Lucile Heyer, Gary attended Buhl schools graduating from Buhl High School in 1950 and the University of Idaho in 1954.
Gary was commissioned in the Air Force and served his country for twenty-one years, retiring as a Major. During his service he continued his education earning a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Human Factors Psychology.
Gary’s love was family and aircraft. He and wife Bette (Hall) of Twin Falls, raised two boys, Gary Edward and Garnet Leroy, whose lives and respective family’s were the focus and joy of Gary’s life. Next was Gary’s love of aircraft and the restoration of his 1950 Ryan Navion which he left in “mint condition.”
Fittingly, Gary’s “final flight” came shortly before the break of Memorial Day 2019.
