George William Ellis

George William Ellis, 89, passed away Friday, September 25th, 2026 at Las Vegas, Nevada. He was born October 22, 1936 in Sparkman, Arkansas to Jamie Eason Ellis and Newt Ellis. He married Shirley Kinard Ellis on January 5, 1960 in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. George was born and raised in Sparkman, Arkansas. The first time he left home was to join the Navy in 1956, where he traveled around the world. 

George loved to fish when he could, especially with Tony. He was a devoted husband and loving father. He is survived by his daughter Jackie Immel and her husband Butch Immel in Henderson, Nevada; his brother Frank Ellis in Boise, Idaho and sister Emma Beck in Atlanta, Texas; his grandchildren - Josh Claunch in Henderson, Nevada, Michelle Harwood & her husband Ryan Harwood in Menifee, California, and Brittney Gatto & her husband Anthony Gatto in Rancho Mission Viejo, California; as well as his great grandchildren - Connor Claunch, Hannah Claunch, Preston Ellis, Taylor Ellis, and Charlotte Gatto. Preceded in death by his wife Shirley Ellis and son Steve Ellis. Also preceded in death by his siblings Dan Ellis and Mindale Ellis.

Funeral services will be Saturday, October 3rd at 1:00 in the afternoon at Star Mortuary located at 900 Nevada Hwy., Boulder City, NV 89005. Friends may call Saturday, October 10th, at 10am at the Burleson Memorial. Interment will be at the Burleson Memorial, located at 490 Memorial Plaza, Burleson, Texas 76028.
