Glenda Stimpson Weaver

October 12, 1937 — September 17, 2023

Beaver Dam

Our beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, Glenda Stimpson Weaver, 85, passed away Sunday night, September 17, 2023, surrounded by her family. She was born October 12, 1937 to Glenn and Clara Young Stimpson. She married Gordon H. Weaver from Egin, Idaho on August 31, 1956 in the Idaho Falls Temple.

She was born and raised in St. Anthony, Idaho. She graduated from South Fremont High School and later attended Ricks College in Rexburg until she was married. She lived in various places throughout her life including Rexburg, Idaho; Logan, Utah; West Seattle, Washington; Kent, Washington; and Beaver Dam, Arizona.

Glenda loved being a wife, mother, and grandmother. She was fortunate to stay at home for many years, but during her life, she worked for Fred’s Café, Kings Dime Store, two dentist offices, and JK Covers. She also started a wedding business with a close friend in Kent, Washington. After retirement, she liked to travel with her husband in their RV, visiting family and friends. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she served in many callings, and was actively involved with her local chapter of Daughters of Utah Pioneers (DUP). She loved genealogy and put together a comprehensive book of her grandfather’s four generations, making it available for his descendants. She worked with her husband as Directors of the Auburn Washington Family History Center and made several trips to the Family History Library in Salt Lake City. Glenda enjoyed spending time with her family, playing games, watching movies, camping, and going on fishing trips and many other outings. She faithfully served others and especially enjoyed serving in the Seattle and St. George temples.

She is survived by her husband, Gordon Weaver, and her seven children: Alan Weaver (Sherri), Deborah Landry, Stan Weaver, Aaron Weaver (Trisha), Darin Weaver (Kristin), Annette Pukahi (Ron); and Linda Vandenberg (Steve), as well as her 14 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, and her brother, J.C. Stimpson (Janice). She was preceded in death by her father and mother, sister, Clairdene McMinn (Bill), and brother, Scott Stimpson (LaRue), her grandson, Joshua Pukahi, and her niece, Stephenny Stimpson.
