Harold George LaPointe, 75, of Las Vegas, Nevada passed away peacefully at home on November 1, 2021, following a long battle after a stroke. Harold is survived by his wife, Chol LaPointe; his daughter Linda LaPointe; his son Harold LaPointe, Jr.; his grandchildren Alex LaPointe, Sebastian LaPointe, Joshua LaPointe, Chris Henson, and Sierra Henson; his sisters Kathy Brown, 71, of Winthrop, Massachusetts, and Virginia Hubbard, 81, of Erving, Massachusetts; as well many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his mother, Francena B. Matthews-LaPointe; his sisters Jean Bousquet and Barbara Young; and his brothers Henry and William LaPointe.

Harold was born in Montague, Massachusetts. He joined the Air Force at an early age and retired after more than two decades of service to his country. He earned many awards and medals during his military career – including the Purple Heart during his service in the Vietnam War. Following his military retirement, he joined the United States Postal Service as a mail carrier, where he continued service to his country for more than 15 years as an ambassador of good will and humor to those who he befriended along his mail routes.  Harold was a devoted father and grandfather. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed camping, fishing, gem and rock hunting, and working out in the yard. He loved to tell jokes and spend time with his family. He firmly believed in “family first.” He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.

A funeral service with full military honors is scheduled for 10:40 a.m. on November 17 at the Southern Nevada Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City, Nevada.
