Harry Bird ‘Bud’ Frashier went home to be with his Lord on May 26, 2026 at the age of 91 in Mesquite, Nevada. He was the only son of Leona and Bird Frashier from Enterprise, Oregon. He graduated from Enterprise High School in 1952 where he enjoyed various sports such as: Rodeo, Boxing and especially Football. He was on the first ever East/West Shrine All-Star Football team, he was also named to the anniversary East/West Shrine team announced in the early 2000’s.
In 1955 he hired out with Union Pacific Railroad in LaGrande, Oregon. He married Virginia Smith and had two children; Don and Tina. His railroad service was interrupted by service in the U.S. Army, attaining the rank of Corporal. His job included maintaining/flying Nike target drones that can still be seen in the museum at Fort Bliss TX. They then moved to a 10ac property at the foot of Ladd Canyon and divorced in 1979.
He married Susan Lambert in 1981 who was his lifelong love & partner. He was able to enjoy his favorite activities: raising horses, cattle and mules. He was especially proud to use his mules to team rope at events with the Northwest Senior Pro Rodeo and packing into the wilderness on hunting trips.
Upon retiring from a 40-year career as a railroad engineer, they began traveling to Arizonia so he could continue his roping activities and enjoy four wheeling in the desert. Upon moving permanently to Mesquite Nevada, he enjoyed his many friends, family and neighbors who became like family. His weekend boy-time was the highlight in his last days. He was a member of the Mesquite Baptist Church and enjoyed men’s breakfast and bible studies. He was one of the first to church to deliver his cookies.
Bud is survived by his wife Susan, Children Don & Kim Frashier of Port Angeles, Washington, Tina Kassel of Redmond, Oregon, Karen & Jim Smith of Hermiston, Oregon, Tom Dalton of Hermiston Oregon, Dean Lambert of Union Oregon, 9 grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and great grandchildren. Proceeded in death by his parents Bird and Leona, children Joe Dalton and Steve Dalton.
