Jacob Boucher, Jr.

June 28, 1933 — February 11, 2023

Jacob passed into Jesus’ loving arms. As he aged, he had the best care possible, with his wife Betty by his side and his daughter Lana as his advocate, attentively loving and caring for him. He was the youngest of seven children and grew up in the small town of Naper, Nebraska.

After high school he proudly served his country in the US Air Force. He talked about his time in the Air Force for the rest of his life and met some of his lifelong friends there. He met his wife Betty Teachout while he was on leave from the Air Force, and they wrote back and forth until he was honorably discharged. They were married for 66 years. He enjoyed his time with Betty and always wanted her with him.

After his time in the Air Force, he spent most of his life working as a power lineman for Niobrara Valley Electric, the US Air Force Academy in Colorado, and the US Bureau of Reclamation (now the US Department of Energy). This journey took him all over the Midwest and western United States finally settling in Boulder City, NV. Prior to retirement he was the High Voltage Foreman for the Mead Substation.

Jacob loved his family dearly and wanted nothing more than to take care of them. Together with Betty, he enjoyed building homes for his family and was very talented in everything to which he set his mind, hands, and heart. Some of his fondest memories were boating with his family and taking his girls water skiing, and later watching his grandchildren participate in water sports at Lake Almanor. Jacob loved being with his wife, children and grandchildren who were the light of his life.

He is survived by his lifelong love Betty Teachout-Boucher, his daughters, Lana Reed (Victor Sternberg), and Laurie (Jeffrey) Hartman and his three grandchildren, Amanda, William, and Emily Hartman and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob D. and Libbie Ella (Moses) Boucher and all six siblings. Services will be private.
