James Baron Howearth

Jim Howearth, 86, passed away December 13, 2025, in Mesquite, Nevada. He was born on December 25, 1938, at Reynolds Memorial Hospital in Glendale, West Virginia. Jim was the youngest child of Leslie Dale and Jeanette Elizabeth (Clark) Howearth.

Jim grew up in the West Virginia panhandle and graduated from Moundsville (WV) High School in 1957. He met Carol in Terre Haute, Indiana where they were married on March 19, 1960. Jim retired from the post office after more than 30 years of service.

Jim treasured his friends and family especially while enjoying a round of golf. He ardently followed the WVU Mountaineers competing in most any sport along with the Steelers and Pirates every season, be it a good or bad year.

Jim is survived by his wife of 65 years, Carol (Hanson) Howearth of Mesquite, Nevada; his sons Steven and Greg (Asther) of Long Beach, California; his cherished granddaughters Hope Howearth and Heather Carter (Andrew); and his beloved twin great-grandsons Ashton and Colton Carter. He was preceded in death by his parents, Les and Jeanette Howearth as well as his brother Dale, Jr. and sister Bette.

A private family service will be held followed by interment at Hardy Way Cemetery in Mesquite, Nevada.
