James "Jim" Schwarzer

May 17, 1935 — April 15, 2018

James Douglas Schwarzer, “Jim”, passed away unexpectedly but peacefully on Sunday, April 15, 2018.  He was born in Austin, Texas on May 17, 1935.  He is survived by his wife and best friend of 60 years, Rita, a son James Jr. of Austin, daughter, Joni Schwarzer of South Dakota.  Also one grandson Cliff, residing in Austin, one granddaughter, Amanda in Las Vegas and two great-grandsons in Austin.

He served 8 years in the US Navy.  After his military service, he became a California contractor at which time he and Rita opened their own business in southern California which specialized in boilers installation and heaters repair.  They moved to Boulder City in 2006 after retiring and Jim loved his home and his life here surrounded by any other family members and friends.  He loved serving at the Senior Center and volunteered at the Veterans Home playing his guitar with his music buds for the patients there.

Jim and Rita attended Faith Christian Church for nearly 10 years.  The services for Jim will be held there, 1100 Buchanan Blvd Boulder City, NV, on Saturday April 28 at 2:00 pm.  He will be so very sadly missed by his family, friends also many nieces and nephews.  Family and friends can sign an online memorial guestbook at www.bouldercityfamilymortuary.com
