Janice Claire Burtsell

Janice (Hoagland) Burtsell, 92, of Henderson, NV passed away July 29, 2026 at her home. She was born December 12, 1933 in Lincoln, NE to Harold Grandville and Florence Schank Hoagland.

Janice is preceded in death by her parents, brother Cpl. Garold Hoagland USMC (KIA on Iwo Jima 1945 at the age of 21), and her sister Betty Bernard.

She is survived by her husband of 73 years Ronald, children Robin Eiene and Lloyd Burtsell, granddaughters Jessica Isabella and Katy Burtsell, grandsons Joshua Lavin, Gianni Lavin, Justin Burtsell and Chais Burtsell, great-granddaughters Jocelyn Lavin, Aubrey Lavin, Rylee Burtsell, Molly Burtsell, Kaiia Burtsell, Peyton Burtsell and Zoe Jane Burtsell, great-grandsons Tristan Lavin and Kaden Isabella, great-great-granddaughter Lanola Lavin and great-great-grandson Jensen Lavin.

Janice is a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother who will be greatly missed by all of those who love her.

She will be laid to rest at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City, NV.
