Jean Cormani died peacefully on Friday, March 1, 2024, with her family by her side. She had recently celebrated her 92nd birthday and spent every day spreading love and joy to everyone who knew her.
Jean was born on February 1, 1932, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Ralph Aiello and Mary Pietramala. She attended West High School and later studied at Steven’s-Henager College. After graduating, Jean met the love of her life, Robert “Bob” Cormani Jr. The couple married in 1951 and later had two children, Robert and Bari. The family lived in Kanab and Cedar City before settling in American Fork, Utah. Both Jean and Bob both worked for Mountain Bell Telephone until their retirement.
Jean and Bob spent their later years together doing what they loved: spending time outdoors, cruising, and traveling the world together. Jean collected souvenir spoons from every destination they visited together and proudly displayed them on the wall of her kitchen. After her husband’s death in 2004, Jean continued to pursue her hobbies, such as tending to her garden and watching old westerns like her favorite, ‘The Virginian.’ Jean was a devout Catholic and attended St. Peter’s Church in American Fork, where she served as the director of the Confraternity of Christian Doctrine and oversaw the youth religious education. Jean resided in American Fork until 2010, when she relocated to Mesquite, Nevada, to live near her son.
Jean’s love for her family and friends, witty humor, and infectious joy will be remembered by all who had the immense privilege of knowing her. She was always happy to see a familiar face, show off her rose bushes, and share stories from her and Bob’s travels. The smell of fresh pizzelles, bright shades of pink lipstick, and the sound of Dean Martin songs will always remind her family of their Grandma Jean and how much light she brought into the world.
Jean is survived by her son, Robert (Beverly) Cormani; brother, Ralph Aiello; five grandchildren — Landon, Jamie, Kali, Jason, and Casey; and five great-grandchildren — Mattea, Mason, Connor, Koen, and Quinn. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Cormani, Jr.; daughter, Bari (Kim) Olson; sister, Dolores “Dee” Clark; and great-granddaughter, Penny.
A private remembrance service will be held for the immediate family. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that you donate to a charity of your choice in Jean's name. This will help to carry on Jean's legacy of making the world a better place. Family and friends are invited to sign an online memorial guestbook at www.starmortuary.comVisits: 172
