John Hurbert Maxson

Mesquite, NV

John Maxson of Mesqute, NV age 81, passed away at his home in Mesquite, NV in the loving arms of his love of life, BFF, companion and caretaker
of 21 years Brenda (Reeves) Dean. John and Brenda moved to Mesquite on July 7, 2007 from Fruita, CO to get John out of the cold weather and a much lower altitude. John had COPD. He smoked for 72 years.

John was born to Roy and Mae (Rains) Maxson in McAlester, OK.

John grew up in Costa Mesa, CA. John lived in CO and KS.

He was married to Bonnie Underhill, they had 2 daughter's, Dawn and Teresa and later divorced.

He was married to Margaret (Signs-Harvey) Maxson for 39 years. They share 5 children. Dennis and (Kari) Harvey (CO), Sissy Harvey (WA), Dawn (Scott) Houser (CA), Teresa Maxson (CO), and Carrie (Jim) Fraser (CO). John has 13 grandchildren, 12 greatchildren and 1 great-grandchild. He is survived by all, plus numerous nieces and nephews and many, many friends.

John was an awesome mechanic. It was pretty much his whole life. He worked on the oil rigs for many years, had his own maintenance shop. He worked for Tide Water and Williams in Parachute, CO.

In his much younger years, he loved to fish, hunt, go bowling and shoot pool. John loved his children and grandchildren more than anything in this world. He always prayed that they knew that. if, they don't, they are fools.

He loved Karaoke, he had a brilliant country voice. He sang Hank Williams Sr., Don Williams, and Johnny Cash to name a few. He could of been a professional singer.

John worked for Alford Construction and Casa Blanca Hotel and Casino in Mesquite, NV.

He will be loved and missed by all who knew him.

No funeral or celebration of life per his wishes. Cremation has taken place in the care of Star Mortuary Mesquite.

John loved ASPCA, St. Jude Children's Hospital, American Lung Association and American Heart Association.

Star Mortuary has done EVERYTHING for me. Tyson Smith, Brevin Clifford, their staff and family. I am forever GRATEFUL.
