John Nix

John Harold Nix, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Born Nov. 1, 1935 in Habersham Co, GA, and passed away Feb. 6, 2018, in Henderson, NV.  He served 8 years in the USAF, and retired from Pioneer Chlor Alkali as a safety supervisor.

He is survived by his beloved wife of more than 62 years, Darlene; son Charles Nix (Rowena Cruz) of Henderson, sister Janelle McCombs Darrah (John), of Colo. Springs, CO, sister-in-law Lila Bales (Ken) of Pahrump, brother-in-law Don Farnsworth (Linda) of Las Vegas; grandchildren Jamie O’Boyle (Thomas) of Reno, John R Nix (Sutanya), Lakenheath AFB, UK, Tiffany Britt (Joseph), Carrollton, GA, Gerry Nix (Melanie), Chula Vista, CA, Scott Wainwright, Tyrone, GA, Francis Mallari (Bree), Las Vegas, and Joy Mallari, CA; 11 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by daughter Carlene Nix, granddaughter Jennifer Wainwright, his parents, Carl and Fanny Nix, and 8 brothers and 6 sisters.

Services and burial will be at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City, on Thursday, Feb. 22, 2018 at 1:20 p.m.
