Joe was born on October 7, 1954, in Bridgeport, Connecticut. 

He proudly served in the United States Army from 1972 to 1976 and was stationed in Germany. 

Joe was the owner of a “Cheers” tavern before moving to Boulder City in 2004 with the love of his life to be closer to his mother.

He worked as a heavy equipment instructor before retiring as the Director of Security at Wynn Las Vegas.

Joe was an active member of the Boulder City Horsemen’s Association, where he made many friends and enjoyed riding his beloved horse, Milinda.

He had a passion for gardening, traveling, playing his bass guitar, scuba diving, and fishing. His love for young people and his genuine kindness were contagious to all who knew him.

Joe is survived by his loving wife, Marie Johanna Schumans, aka Mary, and his daughter, Remy. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Joe will be remembered fondly by all who knew him, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories in the hearts of his family and friends. ❤️
