Kenneth Louis Berger

Boulder City, Nevada- Kenneth Louis Berger, 82, passed away on Wednesday June 25th, 2025 with his wife Joan and daughter Jennifer by his side. Kenneth was born on December 22nd, 1942 in St. Paul, Minnesota to Kenneth Arthur Berger and Mildred Sartori Berger. He married Joan Glaser on October 27th, 1972 in St. Paul, Minnesota.

He was raised in a family of all boys with his brothers Brian, Bruce (deceased), Greg and Gary and cousins Ed Peiffer and Sherry Armstrong. Ed and Kenneth were as close as brothers and spent much of their youth together, making them thick as thieves.

Kenneth was very proud to be a veteran of the Air Force and Army Reserves. He was in the services during both Vietnam and Desert Storm. He retired as a Major in the Army Reserves. As a career, he was both a pharmacist in the Army and a Boeing 737 commercial pilot It was always his dream to be a pilot. He began his flying career flying tourists into the Grand Canyon below the rim and later logging more than 11,000 flight hours.

Kenneth was very creative and talented, and enjoyed many hobbies throughout his life. Kenneth owned motorcycles since high school and enjoyed fixing them as much as he enjoyed riding them. He spent many years drawing and sketching, including oil and watercolor painting. When he lived in North Las Vegas, he built, flew, crashed and repaired his own model airplanes. Kenneth built an in-ground spa and deck, installed block walls, renovated their Boulder City home, and many more projects. Kenneth was a competition shooter in trap, skeet and pistol. He enjoyed teaching his daughter and granddaughter Hazelle how to shoot and reload bullets. He became a gun smith and later in life, a piano tuner. There was rarely a toy he couldn't fix for his daughter and grandchildren. He spent many hours in the garage "tinkering" on his motorcycles, guns, and cars.

Kenneth loved to be silly and laugh. He spent many hours playing with his grandchildren, blowing bubbles and pushing them on the swing. He was also a man of great faith always looked forward to the next goal; knowing that if he worked hard things would fall into place. He joined of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints with his wife Joan and daughter Jennifer in 1998. Kenneth also enjoyed hiking and going on many road trips with wife Joan, and often their 2 dogs in the back of a 77' Chevrolet pick-up truck.

He is survived by his wife Joan Berger in Boulder City, Nevada, and children, Jennifer (Benjamin) Ritchie of Henderson, Nevada and Darlene (Steve) Jackson of Dayton, Tennessee. Grandchildren include Hazelle, Maebelle, Gideon, Trent, and Trevor. Kenneth is preceded in death by his little brother Bruce and parents Kenneth and Mildred.

Kenneth will be remembered as a loving Husband, Father, and Grandfather, who loved to joke, laugh, and play Scrabble.

Funeral services will at 10:00am on Monday July 7th, 2025 at the LDS 5th Street Chapel (916 5th St. Boulder City, Nevada 89005). All are welcome to attend the viewing taking place 9:00am to 9:45am prior to the funeral service. Interment will be at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery at 12:00pm.
