Kenneth Dewan White passed away on May 19, 2018 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was born August 31, 1937 in Caruthers, CA. He was a graduate of Washington Union High School in Easton, CA, class of 1955. Immediately after graduation, he and several of his classmates joined the U.S. Navy. He was initially assigned as a gunners mate in patrol planes, and then was assigned to work in the clerical field and was promoted to Master Chief Yeomon, then to Chief Warrant Officer 4, and then to full Lieutenant (Mustang). During his military career, he was awarded 7 personal medals including the Meritorious Service Medal, and 9 service awards.
Retiring from the military after 25 years, he was offered a position as Vice President of a large computer firm where he worked for over 9 years as the Director of the Personnel Systems Department, after which, he retired to his new home in Golden Shores, Arizona and in his words, he would tell you “I went hunting and fishing to my heart’s content”.
Kenneth is preceded in death by his parents, Walter B. and Josie M. White of Caruthers, his brother Walter G. White, his wife of 40 years Virginia Kizer White, and daughter Connie Ann. He is survived by his loving wife Eva Scott White of Arizona; son Kenneth K. White of San Antonio, TX; cousins Allen K. Scott of Yuma, AZ and George Scott of Blythe, CA; ten grandsons, two great grandsons and two great granddaughters.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday May 30, 2018 at 9:30 am at Bethany Baptist Church, 210 Wyoming Street Boulder City, Nevada 89005, with Funeral Service following at 10:30 am. Interment and Military Honors will take place at 12 noon at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Buchanan Blvd, Boulder City, Nevada 89005.
