Kevin James Olson

Kevin James Olson, 67, passed away unexpectedly Monday, June 15, 2026 at his home. He was born September 24, 1958 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Glen Olson and Shirley (Halter) Olson.

 Kevin grew up in St. Louis Park, Minnesota, graduating from St. Louis Park High School in 1977. Kevin worked part time for the City of St. Louis Park Parks and Recreation while attending the University of Minnesota, where he studied computer science. Kevin moved to Boulder City, Nevada in 1986. He worked for the American Bowling Congress (ABC)/United States Bowling Congress (USBC) from 1986 to his retirement in 2021. He worked in tournament registration and traveled around the country to cities hosting the national tournament. When not at national tournaments, Kevin lived in Milwaukie, Wisconsin. Kevin enjoyed bowling, poker tournaments, and was an avid Minnesota sports fan. Kevin welcomed family and friends to Las Vegas. 

Kevin is survived by brothers Michael Olson (Susan) of Chaska, Minnesota; and Alan Olson of Apple Valley, Minnesota. Nephew: Matthew Olson; Nieces: Ayla Olson and Erika Olson. Great nephew: Suede; great niece: Sorelle. Preceded in death by parents Glen and Shirley Olson of Boulder City, Nevada. Kevin was interred at Boulder City Municipal Cemetery in a private ceremony. A celebration of life will be held at Boulder Creek Golf Club, 1501 Veterans Memorial Drive, Boulder City, Nevada on Saturday, July 25th from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. We invite family and friends to leave condolences or memories at www.starmortuary.com.
