Kristie Nicole Ashment, passed away peacefully in her home at the age of 52 on November 21, 2025.

Kristie was born on February 18, 1973, in Logan, Utah, to Jerry Clayson and Paula Root. She spent most of her life in Utah before later settling in Mesquite, Nevada.

Kristie had a deep love of learning that shaped both her life and her career. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Utah and later completed her Master of Arts in Learning and Technology through Western Governors University. As an elementary school teacher, she poured her heart into her classroom. She believed in curiosity, in asking questions, and in helping children see the wonder in the world around them. Her students knew her as someone who cared deeply not just about grades, but about who they were becoming.

She had a lifelong love of space, science, computers, and technology. She was endlessly curious about the universe and how things worked, often diving into topics with excitement and sharing what she learned with those around her.

Kristie is survived by her parents Jerry, and Paul; her three children, Mykel, Adylee, and Vivian; her beloved grandchild, Layla; her brothers, Jared and Jeff; and her niece, Dani.

Funeral services will be announced at a later date. Friends may call on day, date, and time to be determined at the designated location.

Kristie will be remembered for her unique observations and perspective of the world.
