Kristine Hood

Kristine (Kris) Hood (nee Wade), beloved wife, mother, sister and grandmother passed away early Monday morning on August 31 , 2026 at her home in Mesquite, Nevada. She was born March 21, 1953 in Ogden, Utah to Richard Gale Wade Sr. and Marilyn Ruth Bruerton Wade.

She graduated from Ben Lomond High School, Attended Weber State University and later graduated from the Davis Applied Technology Center with a nursing degree.

On July 30, 1977 she married Neil L. Hood in Ogden, Utah. They were blessed with one son, Thomas (Mysti) as well as a son from Neil’s previous marriage, Daniel (Candace).

Kris very much enjoyed spending time with her 11 grandchildren: Alec, Alice, Avery, Kaiya, Morgan, Evalyn, Viola, Anthony, Andrew, Pryor and Rose.

Kris worked at Cutter Laboratory in the 1970s and later at Boise Cascade, Diasonics and Hercules Aerospace. After obtaining her nursing degree, she worked at Alta View hospital, Cottonwood Hospital and LDS Hospital.

Kris was very active in sports. In her youth she was an avid golfer and swimmer. She was a member of the Rolling Hills Swim club. She was a lifeguard there and at Rainbow Gardens. She also worked as a coach for various youth sports with Ogden City Recreation. During her attendance at Weber State University, she was a member of the women’s softball team as well as the women’s volleyball team. As an adult, she enjoyed camping, riding dirt bikes, ATVs and side-by sides.

Kris was a proud member of the Potawatomi tribe, like her father before her and ensured that her son, Tomas became a member as well.

Kris had a very outgoing personality, could strike up a conversation with anyone, and was liked by almost everyone she met. She was a bright spot in many of our lives and will be very much missed.

Kris was preceded in death by her parents, Richard G. Wade Sr. and Marilyn B. Wade, her brother, Richard G. Wade Jr., and her son Thomas J. Hood. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Neil L. Hood, her son, Daniel, 11 grandchildren, a brother, James (Larue) Wade, and a sister, Suzanne (Bruce) Dickey.

There will be a graveside service at 1:00 p.m., September 12th at the Clinton City Cemetery, 813 North 750 West, Clinton, Utah. There will be a luncheon provided after the service.
