Larry D. Meester Sr. passed away peacefully a4er a long illness on Wednesday, June 3, 2026 at his home in Mesquite, Nevada ... surrounded by his loving family.
Larry was born on June 27, 1936 in Hastings, Nebraska to William and Ethel (Engel) Goldenstein. His mother passed away shortly a4er Larry was born and he was raised by his adoptive parents Ace Meester who was married to his maternal Aunt Esther Engel.
Larry graduated from Hastings High School and was a proud military veteran, retiring as a MSgt in the U.S. Air Force specializing in jet engine repair with a particular expertise with B-52’s. A4er his USAF retirement, Larry enjoyed another 20-year career working for the City of Riverside, CA, retiring for good in 1998.
Larry met the love of his life Mary Ann Two Crow while stationed in Rapid City, SD through a mutual friend (Larry’s roommate at the time who was dating and ultimately married Mary Ann’s good friend). They were married on August 11, 1958 and their marriage was a model of love and family for nearly 68 years. In addition to his beloved Mary Ann Meester, Larry is survived by his sons Larry D. Meester, Jr. and Ron Meester and their wives Teresa and Cindy as well as his brothers Dick Meester and Duane Meester and their wives Jo and Becky.
He is survived also by 13 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. His grandchildren include Sage Martinez, Garre` Martinez, Amanda Meester, Winona Harvey, Jesse Meester, Lester Meester, Jennifer Meester, Christie Meester, Hannah Meester, Kyle Meester, Drew Meester, Allison Meester and Doug Ridgeway. His great-grandchildren include Mathew Moreno, Chris Ellis, Leila Meester, Nathan Meester, and Yvaine Meester. His great-great- grandchild is Ashlyn Ellis.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sons Collins Meester and Less Meester, his brothers Marvin Goldenstein, Bob Goldenstein, Gerald Goldenstein, and Roger Goldenstein, and his sister Joyce Erickson.
Larry was a great, devoted husband, dad, grandpa, brother, and son. He most enjoyed spending time with his extended family, helping each on countless occasions in their time of need. He was a passionate sports fan and loved watching his many favorite classic TV series and sitting out on his porch early in the morning reading his paper while having a cup of coffee.
He is in a better place now...and we pray for his richly deserved eternal peace and happiness.
