Boulder City, Nevada-   Larry Ray Richner, 87 passed away on March 15, 2024 in Las Vegas, Nevada with family at his side.  He was born on July 1, 1936 in Cleveland, Ohio to Raymond and Kathryn (Smith) Richner.  He married Nancy Marie Rodgers in Twinsburg Ohio on August 22, 1959.

After serving in the United States Marines he got a job with Republic Steel.  Being good at math he did complex calculations that were all done by hand in those days. Later he started doing plumbing and heating repair work out of Richner Hardware.  This eventually split into a separate business when things got too busy.  He sold Richner Plumbing, Heating, and Air Conditioning in 1976 when he and Nancy moved their family from Twinsburg Ohio to Boulder City Nevada.  Here he started a new business concentrating on air conditioning & heating. With his honesty, integrity and fair nature, traits that he also instilled in his children, the business became and remains successful to this day.

He loved spending time at Lake Mead, exploring the desert, visiting ghost towns, rock hounding, and panning for gold. He and Nancy were able to make trips to several different countries, served on mission trips to Mexico and had adventures with friends in Alaska. He loved to travel across the United States in his motor home.

Larry was many things to many people. He was a founding member of Faith Christian Church in Boulder City, an Ohio farm boy, a U.S. Marine, a volunteer fire fighter & served on the rescue squad including a certified rescue scuba diver. Larry was an air conditioning expert, a Cleveland Browns fan, a coin collector, a Mr. fix anything, an avid reader, and an always reliable friend. To our family he was a devoted husband, incredible father, and a doting Papa Larry to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was brave, humble, kind, generous, and always positive. He had an excellent memory, he was tough as nails and as gentle as a lamb. The world was a better place with him here and we were fortunate to have him in our lives.

He is survived by wife Nancy Richner, children John (Anne) Richner of Boulder City, Dave (Tina) Richner of Roseburg Oregon, Dean (Melanie) Richner of Boulder City, and Jill (Shawn) Lynch of Henderson, 11 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, sister Lea Bissell of Macedonia Ohio and brother- in- law Jim Moore of Placerville California.

He was preceded in death by sister Marie Moore and brother-in-law Don Bissell.

Larry will be laid to rest at Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City on March 25th. Friends are invited to attend the Celebration of Life which will be held at 1pm on April 20, 2024 at Faith Christian Church 1100 Buchanan Blvd, Boulder City NV. Casual dress suggested in honor of Larry's sense of style.
