Larry Dean Youngs was born on January 12, 1939 in Grand Island, NE. Larry passed away on March 24, 2016 in Las Vegas, NV.
Larry graduated from East High School in June 1957 and upon graduation enlisted in the US Navy. Upon returning from military service, Larry started his career in law enforcement, first with the Des Moines Police Department, then as a Deputy Marshal with the US Marshal Service until his retirement in 1989 when he moved to Las Vegas. Larry also continued his military service in the Iowa National Guard and achieved the highest enlisted rank of Sergeant Major. He and TJ also owned Youngsy's Concessions at the Iowa State Fair for many years.
Larry is survived by his wife of 32 years, TJ, his daughter, Kristina (Fred) Botts, Altoona, IA, his son Larry Dean Youngs II, Des Moines, IA, his daughter Carsen Brommel (Todd) Pleasant Hill, IA, his step-daughter Wendy Hoskinson, Ankeny, IA, his step-son, Rod Hoskinson, Mansfield, OH, 10 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Larry was preceded in death by his mother, Marjorie Bomark, father, Andrew Youngs, step-father, Harold Bomark and brothers Jerry Youngs and Dic Youngs.
There will be a memorial service on April 12th at Southern Nevada Veteran's Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City, NV at 8:40am.
