Lincoln White

September 8, 1930 — December 18, 2016

Lincoln White, 86, died December 18, 2016, with his family at his side in Henderson, Nevada.

A memorial service will be held on January 12, 2017 at 2:00 pm at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery.

He was born September 6, 1930, in Pensacola, Florida to Ethyl Byrd and George Dewey White.  Lincoln was the fourth eldest of six children born to Ethyl and Dewey.  He was the last surviving child.

Lincoln joined the Army Air Corps (US Airforce) in 1945 and served as a maintenance instructor.  This led to a thirty-five year career with Autonetics and Rockwell International which was eventually acquired by Boeing. As an aerospace engineer, he led many projects which included such military aircraft as the instrument guidance for the X15 and the F-111 fighter and the B-1 bomber.  Lincoln was an adult leader in the Boy Scouts for several years when his sons were active.

Lincoln married Joan Lee Smith in 1953 and raised three children, Rhonda (Golden), Roclund White, and Curtis White in Anaheim, California.

Lincoln married Patsy Lou Igo in 1976 for 34 wonderful years and raised Vikki Jacobs (Igo); Debbie Weiland (Igo) and Michael Igo.

Linc was blessed to be able to retire at the age of 55 and they moved from California to spend the next thirty plus years in Boulder City, Nevada.  Lincoln was active in the Boulder City Masonic Lodge and was Master of the Lodge in 1997.  He was also an active member of the Las Vegas Shrine and Boulder City Shrine Mini Car Club driving his mini-truck with other members in parades in Utah, Arizona, and Nevada supporting Shriners Hospitals around the world for many years.

Lincoln and Pat were also members of the Lake Mead Shrine Yacht Club and Rolling Boulders RV unit in Boulder City as well. Linc’s and Pat’s traveled across the globe during their marriage which included driving their RV throughout most of the United States, including Alaska and Canada with oceanic cruises, and trips to Asia and Europe in-between.

Lincoln was preceded in death by his wife, Patsy Lou White on April 6, 2011.   He is survived by his daughters, Rhonda White (Golden); Deborah Weiland (Igo); Vikki Jacobs (Igo); sons Roclund White; Curtis White; Michael Igo along with his Son-in-laws Steven Weiland and Michael Jacobs.

Lincoln and Pat have 12 grandchildren listed by age; Michele Fowler (Jacobs); Matthew Weiland; Heather Venable (Jacobs); Randy Weiland; Shannon (White) Titus; Melissa (White) Schenk; Ryan White; Greg White; Afton (Golden) Burton; Amanda (White) Gilbuena; and Britney Igo.  Lincoln also leaves eleven great-grandchildren and two more on the way!
