LOLA JEAN BELL of Boulder City, NV passed away of natural causes on September 6, 2025. She was 93 years old. Lola was born June 7, 1932 in El Monte, CA. She graduated from El Monte High School and attended classes at Mt San Antonio and Santa Barbara Community Colleges. Lola was a single parent who not only provided for her family but also made sure her children had an appropriate, loving, clean and, in every way, healthy home and environment. Lola worked at and retired from her 30 year career at the Department of Motor Vehicles in Southern California. Her work family and friends remember her as a kind and nowledgeable person. She said, “I was in charge of the money so I'd better get it right.”
After her children were grown, Lola married her high school sweetheart, Richard Bell also of El Monte, CA. Richard and Lola shared a life of love and prosperity until Richard’s passing in 1997.
After retirement, Lola volunteered at Boulder City Hospital, Long Term Care. She liked to go with the patients on their Tuesday outings. Lola was a giver who would do anything to help a neighbor or a friend and especially her family. She had many friends and loved to socialize. She liked to play word games, cards and dice games. She was smart and competitive.
She enjoyed cooking and baking. Lola's delicious fudge was well known to anyone who knew her. Even people who had not met Lola would ask to purchase her fudge during the holidays.
Her fun sense of humor, her giving spirit, her sharp brain and her amazing fudge will be sorely missed.
Lola is survived by her brother, Larry LeGros of Azusa, CA and by her adult children, Kathleen Rodgers, Sandra Jenkins and Patrick Rodgers all of Boulder City, NV. She was also blessed by her surviving grandchildren, David Walker, Joshua Albright, Jeremiah Rodgers, Emalee Rodgers, Sara Rodgers, Jennifer Esposito, and her great grandchildren, Benjamin Walker, Roman Albright, Brittany Alright, Reeves Esposito, Ryland Esposito and Emerson Esposito.
Lola’s Service will be held Sunday, September 28 at 1pm, at Bethany Church, Boulder City, NV.
