Louis Kish

January 17, 1925 — August 1, 2019

Louis Martin Kish was born January 17, 1925 in Roebling New Jersey to Mary Hudka and Andrew Kish. He died of natural causes at the young age of 94.5 years on August 1, 2019.

Survived by Loving Wife and Lou's Princess of 71 Years, Linda, 4 adoring children: Janis, Louie, Judy and Debbie, along with 5 Grandkids and 7 Great Grandkids.

Dad was a Veteran of the Army and will be buried at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City, Nevada.

He started our family after marrying Linda in 1948 in Torrington, Connecticut. After years of shoveling snow in the home he helped build out in the sticks, he decided that he would follow two of his siblings to sunny Southern California. In 1959 he loaded up the Plymouth station wagon and headed West, making sure that he took plenty of 8mm movies of the long stretches of highway and the swimming pools in the hotels along the way.

Lou, as mom called him, was a Master Tile Setter for 50 years. He owned his own tile contracting business in Torrington and then did his part in the building boom of homes, commercial buildings and ships throughout Southern California. He retired to Boulder City with Linda in 1985, where he quickly un-retired to do occasional tile work in this fine City. For decades, he and Linda were frequent players in the casinos spanning from Railroad Pass to the Bellagio. Always playing 6-7 clustered numbers of Keno. Visits from the four of us always included said gaming, a trip to Costco, a trip to one of two local barbers, breakfast at the Boulder Dam Hotel and dinner at one of the fine local Mexican, French, Burger and Pizza establishments.   They loved the City and the people. For folks like him and mom, the services available were unbelievable. When he lost his driver's license a few years ago, the town breathed a sigh of relief, and Mapa quickly adapted to transport aboard the Silver Rider.

Dad was a most loving and dedicated husband to Linda, he never tired of being with her 24/7. They were an incredible team, living alone together for all those years and supporting each other through the many trials and pleasures a long life affords. We kids and extended family admired the heck out of him as he was perhaps the nicest person any of us ever met. He was truly a role model. We will miss you terribly dad.
