Lynda Palmer

September 25, 1955 — February 2, 2022

In Loving Memory of Lynda Ruth Jarvis Palmer on February 2, 2022, dear Lynda Ruth Jarvis Palmer passed away in her sleep at the age of 66. Born with a heart of gold on September 25, 1955 to John “Jack” Leroy and Norm Ruth Jorgenson Jarvis. Lynda is preceded in death by her parents Jack and Norma, and her son Zachary Jack Gordon who’s passing broke her heart 10 years ago.

Lynda will be missed by her remaining 2 children Mindy Starley (Nick) and Dustin Gordon (Candice) and her 7 grandchildren (Cael, Savanna, Stella, Taylor, Kaydence, Ryder, Camrynn). Lynda is also survived by her 4 sisters Julie Jenkins, Shauna Kersh, Jacki Parrish, and Connie Ranck.

Lynda loved her children and grandchildren.  As a mother, she devoted her life through great hardship to raise her 3 children. She loved them and supported them in all that they needed.  On any given day you would find Lynda with her grandchildren, cheering at one of their sporting events or watching one of them in a dance performance.  Oh, how she loved them!

Lynda lived a life of service.  She was always the first to help whenever there was a need.  Of special note was her service to her mother and father during their last few years. She helped take care of her mother and then after she passed, she moved in with her dad to help take care of him.  She was by his side every moment until the end.

Lynda loved animals of every kind and they were drawn to her. She had many pets over the years and was a friend to all animals in her neighborhood. Lynda will be sorely missed by her dear friend Rocky, a rescue dog that her father Jack adopted, and then remained faithfully by her side.

Lynda had a passion for boating. And always looked forward to her annual trip to Lake Powell. This is where she earned her title of “camp director” as she always worked so hard to make sure that camp was perfect. It was her “happy place”. She was an expert water skier and enjoyed driving the boat all over the lake with her feet.

Lynda loved life!  Some of the special things in her life were cheering on the Utes in football, riding motorcycles, gardening, and spending time with family.  She graduated from Skyline High Sschool class of ’74.  Lynda was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and loved serving in various callings, especially as a primary teacher.

The loving service that she gave to her family, the kind friendship that she gave the people in her life, the bright smile she always shared with everyone around her, and her strong hands, willing to pitch in at any need have made the world a better place.  Lynda’s impact on all of us will be missed.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at 1:00 pm at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints located at 3103 E Craig Dr, Salt Lake City, UT. Lynda will be interred at Wasatch Lawn Cemetery.
