Marsha Lynne Belnap

October 22, 1955 — October 18, 2023

Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, Marsha Lynne Belnap, aged 67, returned to her Heavenly Father on October 18, 2023 after many years of battling multiple, chronic  health conditions and illnesses.

Marsha was born to Vernon Ray and Roma Lovina [Pead] Upton in Inglewood, CA on October 22, 1955. Marsha spent her early years in Inglewood with her friends, family, and beloved grandmother. She also enjoyed her close proximity to the Beach Boys, her all time favorite band.  Marsha could join the neighborhood audience on their driveway as they practiced in their garage. She graduated from Lakewood High School and went on to attend college classes at Brigham Young University.

At a BYU activity, she met her husband Jim Belnap. They were sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake LDS temple on April 18, 1975. She supported her husband throughout his time as a plumbing, electrical and HVAC contractor and small business owner in Salt Lake City, UT and Phoenix, AZ. She enjoyed being an ordinance worker in the Mesa, Oquirrh Mountain, and Salt Lake temples. She also enjoyed her many church callings and service.

Her greatest joy in life was being a wife, mother, and grandmother. Marsha is survived by her husband, James Gilbert; daughter, April (Brian) Wanlass; sons: Christopher, Jonathan (Sarah), and Andrew (Emily) Belnap; eight grandchildren; siblings: Jane (Rodney) Sinclair, Terilee Miller, Regina (Gilbert) Upton-Tapia; sister-in-law, Barbara Olschesky; brothers-in-law: David (Vicky), and Jeffrey Belnap.

Marsha was preceded in death by her parents, her parents-in-law: Chester and Lucille Belnap; her twin children: Aaron and Virginia; and various extended family members.

Memorial and graveside services will be held in her honor at a later date at the Hooper, Utah City Cemetery.
