Mary Michael Stringfellow, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2025, in Mesquite, Nevada, at the age of 78.

Born in Denver, Colorado, on November 20, 1946, Mary built a life rooted in hard work, selflessness, and service to others. She began her career with Sysco on April 16, 1979, and retired on August 29, 2014, after more than 35 years of dedication. During her time at Sysco, she was honored with 12 Torchbearer Awards - the highest recognition given to a Sysco salesperson.

Mary’s warmth, generosity, and sense of humor left a lasting impression on everyone she met. Her laugh and smile were contagious, and her love for her pets, family, and friends was unwavering. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten. She was a devoted and loving mother to her son, Shawn Stringfellow, and a proud grandmother to Jalene Major and Shane Stringfellow. She also leaves behind her cherished sister, Kelly Freeman, and a wide circle of dear friends and extended family.

Mary loved to travel and explore new places. In retirement, Mary found joy in every moment. She was an avid golfer with a signature tradition - celebrating each birdie with a shot of Baileys Irish Cream. She enjoyed ceramics, playing cards, wine nights with the ladies, swimming, bowling, and spending time with those she held dear.

Mary gave back generously to her community. She volunteered as a Veterans Affairs driver, served with the Elks organization, and was a compassionate volunteer victim advocate for the Mesquite Police Department. Her dedication to helping others was a true reflection of her generous spirit.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:30 PM at The Arbor House at Maple Grove Park, 14600 W. 32nd Ave., Golden, CO 80401. A separate Celebration of Life will be held in Mesquite, Nevada, at a later date.
