Michael James Crowther, 48, finished his difficult mortal journey and was freed from his earthly struggles to return home to his loving Heavenly Father, where he has now found solace. He passed through the veil on June 27, 2026, in Henderson, Nevada. Mike was born on October 14, 1977, in Mason Neck, Virginia, to Norman Del Crowther and Carol Ann Crowther Rutledge. He was the youngest of their six children.
Mike spent his childhood in Lorton, Virginia, where he attended Gunston Elementary School and graduated from Hayfield High School in 1995. In his youth, he developed his love for music, teaching himself to play the guitar and drums, and playing with some friends in a band. Mike had a great love for dogs, having three in his life that he especially loved: Brownie, Lady, and Buddy.
He later served a mission in Las Vegas, Nevada, for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from 1998-2000. While serving his mission, he met and later married Jenny, the mother of his seven children. They were married for just over 20 years. Despite his struggles with mental health and addiction, Mike loved his family with all of his heart. He attempted for years to find relief and recovery. Even though his children never got to say goodbye to him, they are all thankful that he is finally at peace.
His family was a very important part of his life. At his best, he was always spending time with his children. He enjoyed watching movies with them, teaching and playing guitar, taking them to the lake, spending time at the park, going for walks, as well as working on and riding bikes. He loved to go to the dog park with the family and their dog Buddy, whom he had a special bond with.
Mike was a great friend to all, and had a lot of love to share. He would regularly go out of his way to help those in need. At heart, he was selfless, and would give any stranger the shirt off his back.
Mike is survived by all of his seven children Layla Maree, Michael James jr, Benjamin Isaac, Daisy Jayne, Jeremy Russell, Sadie Maye, and Jonathan McIntyre, and their mother Jenny Brandon. His mother Carol Ann. His two brothers Ronald Shane (Grace), and Vincent Del (Sandra), and two of his sisters Deborah Lynn Kosanke, and Karen Lynette Crowther. As well as his stepmoms Janet Fisk and Elizabeth Crowther, and step siblings Matthew, Lyndsey, and Spencer. Alison, Christopher, Melissa, Justin, and Meghan. As well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by all of his grandparents, Don Q. Crowther, Mary Irene Swofford, James Breslin, and Thelma Breslin. Father, Norman Del Crowther, father-in-law, Stuart McIntyre Cocks. Sister, Dawna Lynn Ivey, and nephews, Jason Thomas Blake, Stephen Milford Blake, and Niklaus James Lawter. As well as his beloved pets Brownie and Lady.
Mike’s family had a small memorial service for him in St. George, Utah.
